A Garage Roof Beyond Repair

When HighPoint Roofing And Building were called out to this property in Harrow, the garage roof had already given up entirely. It had completely collapsed, leaving the structure exposed and the timbers beneath damaged. With winter approaching, the customer was keen to get the work sorted quickly and had also spotted one of our current offers, which made the timing right to press ahead with a full re-roof rather than another patch-up job.

Rebuilding From The Deck Up

Our team stripped the roof back completely and replaced the damaged timbers before laying 18mm OSB boards across the full 100 square metre area. On top of this we installed a three-layer torch-on felt system, made up of two underlay layers and a mineral cap sheet finished in charcoal. This high-performance felt build-up gives the roof genuine durability, which matters on a flat roof structure like this one that takes a fair amount of weather over the years.

Insulation, Ventilation And Flashing

Insulation was fitted as part of the new deck to improve the roof's thermal performance, something the old collapsed structure clearly wasn't providing. We also improved the roof's ventilation and fitted new lead flashing and valleys around the junctions to keep water moving away from the structure rather than sitting and causing problems further down the line. No building regulations sign-off was required for this particular job.

Finishing Touches

While we were on site we carried out some additional work, fitting UPVC fascias and a UPVC panelled door to bring the whole garage up to the same standard as the new roof. The end result is a complete transformation from what was there before, a genuinely collapsed structure now replaced with a solid, weathertight roof that should serve the customer well for years to come. The job took two days from start to finish and comes with our 10 year guarantee.
