Bay Window Flat Roof Repair

This job came in after a customer in Harrow got in touch on a recommendation from a previous client. Their bay window roof had been leaking for some time and needed sorting properly rather than patched over again. Our team went out, had a look, and got to work the same week.

Once the old covering was stripped back, we found some timber that had been affected by the leak, so this was replaced before anything new went down. There's no point fitting a new roof over a weak deck, it just leads to the same problem further down the line. With the structure sound again, we fitted a high-performance underlay followed by a three layer felt system finished in charcoal, giving the bay a solid, weatherproof covering that should last for years.

As part of the flat roof repair, we also renewed the lead flashing and valleys around the bay to keep water moving away from the joints properly, and improved the ventilation to help stop condensation building up underneath. New guttering was fitted while we were up there too, since the old sections weren't doing the job any more.

One day, done properly

The whole job was completed in a single day. That's often possible with bay window roofs, but only if the prep work and materials are right, rushing it isn't an option when there's been a leak involved. We used a torch-on felt product designed for this kind of application, backed by a 10 year guarantee, so the customer has peace of mind for years to come.

The finished roof looked a world apart from what was there before. No more leaks, tidy flashing work, and a clean charcoal finish that sits well against the rest of the property. The customer was pleased with how the job was handled from start to finish, and it's the sort of quality workmanship we aim for on every roof we touch, big or small.
